Potatoes and cream, delicious. I like to have it with a ratatouille.

Method

Preheat the oven to 150C/gas mark 5

Peel and cut the potatoes into roundels and crush the garlic

Cover the bottom of a gratin dish with cream

Alternate layers of potato, creme, garlic, salt, pepper, until all used up, ending with cream, salt and pepper

Put in the oven for at least an hour - the lower the temperature and longer the cooking time, the more tender the potatoes will be.
